    Notice how 12 and 13 are both loved for their combat systems. Final Fantasy is not about random battles or ATB or whatever. FF needs what every good role playing game needs. Non-linearity, a good battle system, and a good story/characterization. Final Fantasy 13 lacked 2 of those.

    Also yes Grandia is the best RPG battle system ever.
