I want to throw up a question to my fellow Shackers. Do you feel as if the general gaming press often times unfairly blames the rest of the general community for a game not selling well (and resulting consequences: studio layoffs, lack of sequel, etc)? I felt like I was "under attack" by not buying games like Child of Eden and I feel accused of just buying Call of Duty every year and hating on "creative" games and the people who make them. Sometimes it seems as if the press feels like they are the voice of God and I must obey. Specifically to Child of Eden, the discussion seemed to be "Why did you not buy Child of Eden?" instead of "Why did Eden not sell well?"

For me, and most of the community, I don't have a personal relationship with developers so I have no obligation to spend $60 on games I deem to be a poor value.

    Am I just crazy?
