Very happy to have a guy like Andy on. A true enthusiast gamer. We may complain his favorite game/franchise is COD but all of us have a game we either always go back to or take pride in being good at. Mine is Need For Speed Hot Pursuit.

Anyway I would like to comment on some of Andy's statements.

The CoD hate, for me anyway, stems from the fact that the games have gotten slightly worse since CoD4. The multiplayer in COD4 was much better balanced than it was in MW2, WAW, and BloPs. At least a non hardcore player like myself could come in and still have a couple of great rounds without having to invest hours and hours into the game to break it. The perks and killstreaks in MW2 were just either poorly implemented, improperly balanced, or quite frankly too stupid to be in the game. That tactical nuke was so bullshit.

His comments about Nintendo and the Wii are more in line with most former Nintendo fans than some of you give it credit for. Most Wii haters are big Nintendo fans. How many times do most of them say they grew up on their games and systems. The Wii was sold to a lot of us as this really innovative step in the future were great new experiences were to be found. It was lie. The system was a party and workout game machine with a lot of titles that either had no business being on that system or better yet would've been clearly better with standard controls. Super Mario Galaxy I'm looking at you. Andy, like the rest of us former Nintendo fans, are having a wait and see approach to the Wii U. I know I'm certainly not buying one until I see what that system's true potential realized. I just did the same with the 3DS and turns out I made the right call on that.

Andy's comments about the new IP's this gen are spot on. Gears, Uncharted, Assassin's Creed, Resistance, inFamous, Bioshock, Mass Effect, Batman, (technically), Left 4 Dead, LittleBigplanet, Demon's Souls, and a lot of other games I can't think of were all new IPs launched this gen. Yeah their new games have 2s an 3s in them but remember how hokey they were the first go around? We all wanted these games to get sequels to live up to their potentials and they did. We're now reaping the rewards of those lessons learned.
