So, hearing all this talk of Nintendo wanting to recapture the hardcore market has forced me to consider my current stance on Nintendo; Namely, I hate them. Oh, from a business perspective I respect what they managed to do with the DS and the Wii, but as one of the "hardcore" that they would want to draw in with the Wii 2 HD I can't help but feel like the boyfriend who suddenly is face to face with the old girlfriend at the door, who is saying stuff like, "Oh baby, I didn't *really* mean it. I love you, come back to me."
Do I give in? Or do I spurn her for the two "Goddesses" of 360 and PS3? Why should I believe that they are going to properly support titles like those that have shaped and defined this generation for me? Do I really expect to play anything like a Fallout 3, a Red Dead Redemption, or a Mass Effect 1/2 on Nintendo's new platform?
I mean, if they are really intent on this, why is the 3DS still a platform for babies? What about it is supposed to make me go, "Oh, hey, you're serious Nintendo~" I don't want Pilot Wings. I don't want Nintendogs. I don't want a 5 year old DS tech demo submarine game.
You've already burned me more than once Nintendo. I can only replay your legacy titles so many times before I move on to greener pastures.
What say you, fellow Confirmers?
