I view video games, movies, and books as different types of storytelling. However, to me an important part of a story is the emotional attachment to a character in the story. This is one place I think other medias have far surpassed video games. I rarely feel an emotional attachment to video game characters. The only one I can think of is Alex from Half Life 2, especially after the ending of episode 2. So, have any of you felt an emotional attachment to a video game character? If not, why do you think there haven’t been any?
