First of all, great show guys! The Jeffs and Garnett are awesome, and I liked Andrea's comments enough to go grab a couple episodes of her show. Any chance Brian might come back as an occasional guest? I miss his more PC gaming-centric opinion.
Anyway, wanted to throw my two cents in on the Angry Birds debate.
I know Mr. Cannata was just playing devil's advocate, but I respectfully disagree with his rebuttal of the comparison between Transformers 2 and Angry Birds. Much like Angry Birds, TF2 is essentially a "blink and you'll miss it" sound byte of entertainment, great for a few minutes of baudy, cheap fun, not so great for plot/direction/anything else.
In my opinion Angry Birds does very little to push even it's genre forward, let alone videogames as a whole, since it has existed almost verbatim under different names on free flash game sites for years, they just had the foresight to bring it to mobile devices. As far as the argument that it brings in new "gamers", my grandmother plays this game, but would never dream of picking up Mass Effect or Red Dead Redemption. It creates extreme casual gamers, not really the kind of people that would be paying attention to D.I.C.E.
I think it's exceptionally out of place at that show, much as TF2 would be out of place at the Oscars (and probably booed off stage)
