Sounds like "play by mail" civ to me, or async civ. Great idea! Civ works well in this environment because it is turn based.

If they let you get ahead by spending real money though, I'll be pissed. That wouldn't work well in that game anyhow. I imagine if they do let you buy things, it will more likely skins or something. I think they'll make money on ad revenue.
