Just bought Metro 2033 and played through a few levels; very nice. It feels a little bit like the Metro stages of Fallout 3, except I can actually aim and fire responsively in first-person. The currency and gas mask adds a bit of structure to some parts of the gameplay, where you can't just hang around.
