I wanted to comment on the discussion about the money generation system in AC2 and Fable. I'm really torn now on how I want to make money in games. Currently I am playing FFXIII and Fallout 3 and money is made by selling things and "chests", like most traditional RPGs. I have also played AC2 and Fable. My dilemma is I'm not sure which system I like more. With the Fable/AC2 system in games I usually break the economy by just goofing off until I have waaayyy more money than I would ever need. I like this because it allows me to buy anything I could want to max out my stats and make the game easier. But I also like the other model because the scarcity of funds makes for a better immersive experience. It helps to drive home the point that my decisions have consequences including what I buy, Could you guys please discuss, I would love to hear your opinions?
