buying elemental now, even with two free expansions somewhere down the road, is a very poor value proposition. i havent heard anything indicating the game is worth $50 yet, and there is no guarantee that two (or even one) expansions will ever actually materialize for this game...

i lose nothing by waiting 6 months or a year (or more). odds are at that point id be able to buy the game and any expansions together for less than the base game costs today... and if the game is still crap, i can save myself the money entirely. truth is, im not sure what kind of promotion WOULD be good enough to make "buying a shit game now for $50" seem better than waiting.
