The only time ms will do anything good for pc gaming is if another operating system looks like it's going to take the crown of "best gaming OS". with steam ported to mac it might be a start but the shitty video cards will probably make that go nowhere. there's been a lot of work on implementing dx11 in linux so *maybe* in 5-10 years that will go somewhere but i wouldn't hold my breath. There really isn't any reason otherwise for MS to do anything other than what they have been doing, it's not like getting into windows gaming will be some massive cash cow for them.
