The Dragon Age DLC has been a bust for me. DLC that didn't include my character from the main campaign. DLC that included gear that couldn't go over to the game's expansion. An expansion that gutted one of the best parts of the original game.
The greatest flaw in the idea that DLC will enhance an RPG like this is that it takes a lot of time, effort, and care to make additions to the game. This content would be fine if it was $2-3 or if it was free as incentive to purchase the game, but when you're charging $5-7 and it is either incredibly short, inconsequential, or not even connected to your hero that you care about, well it seems like the company didn't really think it through.
I'm hoping that the more focused narrative in Dragon Age 2 will lead to a superior experience, even if its regrettable they're taking away the Origins aspect of the first game to attempt it. Then again, I always played human, so it doesn't really bother me.
