Here's the thing - Borderlands devs said exactly the same thing "The PC version is its own version we're paying special attention to it bla bla bla bla"

Now id isn't gearbox by a long shot, and I'm a lot more positive on their comments here because they talked about concrete things (like their quick items, which sound like a toolbelt or something) they're going to make different for the PC, that's great, that's always good to hear.

But there are a lot of good developers who were PC veterans just like id who are now making console games and can barely spare a look to their old platform, so I'm not gonna get excited just because they said their own game is going to be good.
