I considered buying one until I read about what happens when it runs out of battery, at which point you'll need to call Blizzard from a landline phone and supply them with every bit of information ever entered into your account to be allowed to put a new authenticator on it.

Maybe the mobile version would be worth it if you have a smart phone, but seriously, who doesn't plan to have their battle.net account for more than 5 years?
