Oh happy days indeed - the first phase of the "Sandstorm" expansion really gimped the game heavily for non-subscribers... it pretty much ruined the experience for me. This is very good news because it really can be quite enjoyable.

Hi-Rez sent out two surveys recently which hinted toward the fact that subscription rates were pretty bad, and they were looking for alternate avenues for revenue streams. This makes a lot of sense.
