I loved the first game, it was and is the best shooter in it's category (real world shooters that are not sims) far cry wa wonderfull as well but took certain missteps gameplay wise while FEAR stayed focused. My hope for the sequel like he hope of other fans was the expansion and innovatio of the demanding but rewarding tactical gameplay. What I got was some kind of pitiable approximation of modern warfare. A game which might have sold a lot more than fear but was also an inferior game. I don't know what monolith expected to gain by upping the scriped sequences and setpieces in fear 2 and o don't know why. These new guys expect anyone to give a shit about ghost powers. No one was into fear for the supernatural shit, but rather claustrophobic circular level design and unforgiving ai that rewarded both precision and speed.
