    OK, they're still independent but doesn't Activision do all the marketing now? Isn't there a conflict of interest for them when their next money maker COD is ready to come out... Isn't this exactly why id software stopped using them as their publisher (before they got bought out) despite a very long relationship with them? Isn't there a reason why seemingly a lot of independent studios are using EA Partners, and virtually no one that I'm aware uses Activision strictly as a publisher?

    ... Or not?
