i see they decided to cash in on the 'black is 733t' sentiment among the kids. perhaps the mehwhite is not selling as hotly anymore.

still, better than retrosilver crap that so many other electronic manufacturers have been doing lately as well.

i do like black electronics though, they absorb light and tend to be unobtrusive to the eye when in the visual vicinity, which is a good thing unless you want to be constantly distracted by the device more than what the device is putting out on the screen.
