2K Games announced earlier today that the studio behind BioShock 2, 2K Marin, has run out of ideas. Despite many brainstorming sessions, the development team has completely failed to come up with something new and exciting. Instead, a source claims, they have decided to run with an idea drunkenly shouted out during a employee party.
"We are proud to let the world know that our next project is a re-imagining of one the all-time classic PC franchises - X-Com," stated Christoph Hartmann, 2K President. "Knowing that gamers today have less patience and intelligence, we are building an FPS version of this beloved game using all of the experience gained from making other FPS's."
"[2K Marin] sort of blew their load on that one," he continued. "Luckily, it didn't suck."
When original BioShock creator Irrational Games studio head Ken Levine was reached for comment, he avoided making a statement on the news, simply saying, "You remember Warlords II? That was like my second love..."
