Am I the only one who thinks that heaps of map packs/expansions is a bad thing? I'm a PC gamer, so it's not just about the added price for console gamers.

If they plan on releasing heaps of map packs, it could mean that they purposely cut out content in the original. DLC is great, but in many cases it also becomes an excuse for developers to release the game before it is really ready or has sufficient content. As for customers, if you buy a game based on promises and not content, you are just increasing the risk of disappointment. The kind of DLC I value is not just map packs, but tweaks based on community feedback to make the game more balanced, or added mechanics that make the game more interesting while preserving balance.

So when I hear that Infinity Ward is 'only' releasing 2 map packs, that is really good news because it means that there is probably enough QUALITY already there that it doesn't need to continually be 'patched' with QUANTITY to keep players interested.
