If the "720" has complete backwards capability, I see no problem with MS already planning ahead. However, pushing out the xbox 720 without any or even just limited BC while the 360 is still pretty much king of hardcore gaming is a really stupid move that will fracture the market. They were able to get away with that with the Xbox 1 to Xbox 360 due to poor acceptance of the big box, but the 360's too well entrenched for a change in the next 2-3 years.
