This could be either the Blood Money of the series or something entirely different. Max Payne, even though I haven't played it in a few years, still holds a special place in my heart. It was just one of those fun games you could fire up and kill an hour or so running around causing total chaos.

I loved to play the level in the apartment lobby that had several elevators and a big ambush happen in that room. I would always keep loading that level over changing my tactics as I dove around with a sawed off shotgun splitting peoples skulls open.

Here is hoping that this game is a faithful sequel and does not introduce any sci-fi elements so we can continue killing mobsters and drugged out crack dealers rather than aliens and space cars.
