    When you make something like an NDS, you want to build it from parts that are cost effective from manufacturers that are tooled up to build them. The NDS uses a typical resistive touch display. It isn't novel in any way. It's even less novel than tablet PCs which use an active stylus. Other devices that use resistive displays are UMPCs, cell phones and those cheesy poof game machines in bars.
