    To what degree, do you guys/gals think, the issue with CryEngine2 was that they just tried too much and to what degree is it that Crytek just isn't as good with optimization as they need to be?

    By which I mean - Crysis has a lot of really cool shit in it. The ability to be standing in a flimsy building and have it come down piece by piece because the enemies are shooting at you is fucking amazing.

    But it's not like this isn't something Valve or id Software couldn't do - they just chose to make a game/engine which will run well on just about everyone's PC.

    Did Crytek just not know when to quit? Or is it that CryEngine2 needed more time for optimization and that's what we're seeing now?
