The hardcore fans should just consider themselves lucky that the game hasn't been defiled by shitty sequels and move on. I used to think Chrono Trigger desperately needed a *true* sequel (as in not just loosely based like Chrono Cross).

Then I realized Square-Enix isn't the same Square that existed back then. Sometimes it's better when games stand on their own.
