i wouldn't write the game off yet. I know I personally wouldn't have wasted the time/money on another monthly fee mmorpg. If the focus isn't on stringing suckers along with a monthly fee, then chances are good that the client software will be free, at least for a while, while they try to get initial mass exposure. i guarantee them i'll be downloading the client to give it a whirl once its all ready, something i guarantee them i'd never bother with if it was a monthly fee mmorpg from 'go'.

casual, online, star trek, and potentially free, all in one sentence sounds like fun to me.
