The masterminds of one of my favorite series of games is dead? Is Microsoft trying to drive itself out of business by infuriating its customers? Shit...I had so much fun when I was younger with Mechwarrior 2, and then the series being finished with mechwarrior 4 years ago, I had awaited another sequel of some sort. Activision had already canceled its own variation of the "mech" universe after creating Heavy Gear 2...Heavy Gear 3 was officially canceled after a year of being left in the dark about its state/progress.

It's a pity that now neither is alive, and with nobody having announced a mech-style game in production in the past few years, I am quite fearful that the entire mech genre is either in long-term hibernation, or even permenantly dead. A very sad day for the gaming community indeed.

Someone needs to put together a tribute video to the franchise...I think the franchise/devs deserve that much at least
