Excellent interview. All those nods to film and theater completely refresh my faith in games. far too many games make no effort to do what these guys did and when you hear about the things that influence Levine you instantly get way. He treats it like an actual story driven game design. its not about what tech can i throw at the player to make them happy, its about how can I design a narrative thats meant for a game (vs taking a standard narrative and slapping a game around it). If i were ever to get into making video games this is exactly how I'd ideally like to approach it (and I've often thought how well all my workings in theatre and film would translate - Levine just proved to me that theory is sound). I want to go work with these people!
