Video Games are the absolute synthesis of Barthe's theory of Death of the Author, where the reader (or gamer) authors the narrative through the transcient nature of signs and signifiers that delimiter the experience of playing. The very interaction with the story is what creates art : where reader experience creates and re-creates a "story" with every telling.
To distill the experience to craftsmanship and artisan is to examine Shakespear's folios and comment on the penmanship.
