Tales of Eternia is the classic PSX RPG game adapted to PSP(tm). The "Tales of" RPG series is one of the best ever created, and benefits from a large popularity among the fans of the genre. This opus proposes a gigantic adventure where a group of heroes is fighting to bring balance to their world. The game has a multitude of gameplay, mixing action and reflection.
Detailed storyline
The story begins when Reid and Farrah attend to the crash of a spaceship near their hometown, Rashea. As they investigate the place of the incident, a weird blue animal leads them to a young girl injured by the crash who speaks an unknown language. Further on, Reid and Farrah learn that the mysterious girl, named Meredy, came here to prevent a deadly collision between her planet, Celestia, and Reid and Farrah's world, Inferia. With the help of some friends picked up along the way, Reid, Farrah, and Meredy set out on a quest to collect a set of spiritual beings, their only hope to save both of their planets from a terrible disaster.
GAMEPLAY
A real-time motion battle system
Rather than using a turn-based system, Tales of Eternia's battles occurs in real time. Among a 4 character-team, the player controls Reid in a 2D side-scrolling environment against his enemies. Battle gameplay includes physical and magical attacks, with an almost fighting game-like control system. The other party members fight alongside the hero, controlled by the game's AI. Using a strategy setup menu, the player can prioritize their various manoeuvres. The battles are typically very fast-paced, and their focus on action makes them much more dynamic than other RPG titles.
A variety of gameplay
Summoning system - Meredy and Keele have the power to summon numerous spirits found along their ways, thus granting them with fantastic powers!
Cooking Mini-game - Part of the "Tales of" tradition, the cooking mini-game is an elaborated system to create useful magical potions, all along the quest.
Enigmas - Reflection will be more than necessary to pursue your quest, as you will encounter challenging enigmas at key stages of the game.
Mini-games - The player will be offered a variety of fun mini-games through his adventure: rafting, card playing, train simulation, and even dodge ball!
