Description:
- Loading screen CTD fixes from v1.2
- Clone CTD fix, pioneered by Roma Surrectum's DVK901
- Identifying voices for playable faction units (excluding Illyria and Macedon)
- Slingers should now sound like slingers
- Increased movement rates for fleets and land forces
- revised and simplified Custom Battle rosters
- Roman Marian Legionary Cohort and 1st Cohort available in Custom Battles
- many unit stat tweaks
- many gameplay setting refinements

Note: FOE is mod-foldered and will not interfere with any original game files or any other correctly designed and installed mod-foldered RTW modification. If you already have an unmodded installation of BI patched to v1.6, you can skip to step 4.

1. Install Rome Total War
2. Install Barbarian Invasion expansion
3. Install the BI v1.6 Patch
4. Download and install FOE 1.1 to the Rome - Total War directory
5. Download and install FOE 1.4 patch

| Upgrading from FOE v1.0/1.1/1.2/1.3 to v1.4

The 1.4 patch is cumulative and contains all changes from v1.1, v1.2, v1.3, and v1.4 itself, and can be installed on top of any previous version of FOE (so you do not have to install patches v1.2 or v1.3). Your saved games will still work, however you will need to start a new campaign to get the full benefits of the new patch.

1. Download and install FOE 1.4 patch
2. Recommended: Delete the map.rwm file. There is a button in the launcher for it, if you're not sure where to find it.

| Known Issues

* In game preferences, the "Unit Shaders" checkbox should be switched on to prevent an errorless CTD that occurs with the Greek Hoplitai model on entering battle.
* The RTR Launcher is known to give problems on some systems. If you encounter any simply use the standard Desktop icon to start the game.
* Before starting your first campaign, you are strongly advised to switch the advisor off, as it it is set at High by default, and it has been known to interfere with FOE's background script - especially if you use the RTR Launcher.
* Do not try to edit and save the FOE Prefences using the RTR Launcher until you have run the game at least once. This is required to create your FOE Preferences.txt file.
