Nintendo is just about ready to put up its dukes with Arms, as evidenced by today's Nintendo Direct. But the company doesn't want players to wait until June 16 for their first chance to try out this fighter. Today's Direct revealed that a pair of Global Test Punch weekends will give users a chance to try Arms out for free.

The Global Test Punch is set to run during the last weekend in May and the first weekend in June. Switch owners will simply need to download the Global Test Punch demo from the Nintendo eShop and boot it up during the weekends of May 26-28 and June 2-4.

The full version of Arms will release on June 16.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
