In Prey, one of the more useful and fun weapons is the Disruptor Stun Gun. You can use it to overcharge machines, incapacitate human NPCs, and stun Typhon entities. As you progress through the game, the Stun Gun will have lesser of an affect on your Typhon adversaries. However, it’ll still come in handy when dealing with those troublesome human characters.

How to Get the Disruptor Stun Gun

Typically playing through the game, players will come across the Disruptor Stun Gun once they reach the Volunteer Quarters. However, you can grab the weapon as early as before you first leave the Neuromod Division.

You’re going to need a GLOO cannon, a weapon that shoots and attaches hunks of gunk to different walls and platforms, making some places more accessible. Use it to bypass the broken elevators near the exit to the Talos 1 Lobby.

Next, make your way upstairs to where you get the first Neuromod and turn right. At the end of the platform there will be a wall near the locked door. Use the GLOO Cannon to make platforms you can climb in order to reach the tops. This part can be a little tricky, and make to several attempts to execute.

After you’ve made it to the second floor, go down the walkway towards the corpse of V-010255-01 it should be to the right hand side of the huge mural on the wall. Next to the corpse you will find the Disruptor Stun Gun!

Upgrading the Disruptor Stun Gun

In order to keep up with the growing strength of enemies as you progress through Prey, you’ll need to upgrade it. Though we wouldn’t advise that you prioritize upgrading the Stun Gun over your primary weapons.

When you do go to upgrade your Stun Gun you should mainly focus on the range and shots attributes. After you’ve obtained the Gunsmith I and II abilities, you should explore the several other upgrades to the weapon.
