Report: A Mario and Rabbids RPG Crossover Coming to Switch

We find it hard to believe, but Mario may be teaming up with the hottest Ubisoft characters of 2007.

A Mario and Rabbids crossover may be a real thing, and one that will hit the Nintendo Switch this fall.

Kotaku cites sources claiming that Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle will be an action-RPG starring characters from the Nintendo and Ubisoft series. The playable roster will include Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Peach, and four Rabbids dressed up as those same iconic Mario characters. The game is said to feature a turn-based combat system, two-player co-op, and the silly humor associated with both of these franchises.

The existence of a Mario/Rabbids crossover has been lightly rumored for some time now, but this is the first time we’ve received some sort of concrete details. If these reports prove to be true, expect to see Nintendo and Ubisoft on stage at E3 showcasing the bizarre crossover.

Kotaku's source was anonymous, but we can't shake the suspicion that this is all an elaborate prank orchestrated by Vivendi.
