Diablo 3's Necromancer Has a Bone to Pick in Closed Beta

Cast curses and raise the dead with this fan-favorite class from Diablo 2.

Announced at BlizzCon 2016, Diablo 3's Necromancer class has entered closed beta. You'll know if you made the cut if a Necromancer icon shows up on your Blizzard Account Management page.

"As a master of the dark arts, you wield the powers of life and death necessary to restore the Balance," per Blizzard's official description. "Necromancers are powerful spell casters who lay waste to their enemies using curses and reanimation—along with an obedient cadre of pets. This new class employs a controlled gameplay style using the raw materials of life: blood and bone."

Participants in the beta can get started by selecting "Necromancer Beta Test" from the drop-down menu in your Battle.net—er, "Blizzard"—launcher and following instructions for installation. All of your Diablo 3 and Reaper of Souls characters can be copied over for play, too.

More information on the Necromancer class, as well as breakdowns of other new content introduced in the closed beta, patch notes be found on Battle.net. Not Blizzard. Oh, no. That's the company and the launcher. Battle.net now refers to forums, where I do suppose a fair amount of battling takes place.
