Update (12:39pm)

Blizzard is experiencing technical issues stemming from the Uprising patch. As a result, the company has disabled custom game saves, 3v3 Elimination, and and 6v6 Capture the Flag until the issues can be resolved.

Original Story

Following yesterday's leak of the Overwatch: Insurrection trailer and gameplay details, Blizzard rolled out the game's Uprising expansion earlier today. Uprising will last from today through May 1.

In addition to more skins and items, the expansion premieres a cooperative Brawl mode where players join forces to fight mobs of enemies. (The expansion is called Insurrection in French, explaining the expansion's name in yesterday's leaked trailer.)

"Our latest seasonal event turns back the clock, giving you the chance to relive a pivotal moment in Overwatch history," per a press release issued by Blizzard. "Explore the stories behind some of your favorite heroes, unlock pieces of the past with over 100 declassified Loot Box items, or suit up with your friends and join Tracer on her very first mission in a brand-new cooperative Brawl."

Blizzard set the table for Uprising when it published an Overwatch comic by the same name earlier this month. The comic introduces players to renegade bots, and player-character Soldier 76 is connected to events that transpire.

Overwatch: Uprising landed on Xbox One, PS4, and PC, so you have new content waiting for you no matter which platform you favor.

Played it a few times so far... seems pretty great. They really polished the hell out of this layout and update.

      It's very nice.

What I didn't see mentioned elsewhere is that Uprising was added as a customizable Arcade mode as well, where you can change it to play with the rest of the heroes etc. Custom games can be silly fun and saving presets is much needed. Really though I think they need some sort of global preset library so you can tell if someone is using the "official" version of a popular mode, like you could in WC3/Starcraft. Then just gradually keep adding more and more customization power, maybe some day with actual scripting at least if not a map editor.
