by Steve Gibson, Oct 17, 2000 9:59pm PDTI have no idea why I am awake, but here's a bunch of Xbox stuff for you guys to ponder while I ponder sleep. Apparently Microsoft is gonna try and poopoo on the Playstation2 parade by announcing the final XBox specs on the PS2 launch date. Also I cant remember where I saw it (doh) but EA has more or less confirmed that they will be porting their sports titles to the new Microsoft console hybrid. A couple of other bits:
- XDome takes a look at the graphical backend of XBox, a lot of people look at the CPU speed and dont realize that isnt the only way to judge speed. - Eidos recently confirmed that they are working on an exlusive title for the XBox - Microsoft donated a few XBox machines to a fundraiser auction. Check out the story.Lastly, Motleyfool has a really interesting overview of the upcoming console scene, which mentions the XBox specs as 'jaw dropping'.

bad mgmt and competition practices seem so simmilar to me between 3dfx and Intel.... its scary....

In 3 years.... Intel could be the 'cyrix' of the industry... and you KNOW ibm is looking for payback....
Fuck Intel... if they cant maintain a monopoly (oligopoly) with all the resources they have (had), in the face of decent (and competent) competition... then Intel DESERVES to fail.

When the X-Box hits the street in about a Microsoft Year (2 normal years? :-) the PS2 will be cheaper and have more games..
Will the X-Box be better? From a hardware view most certainly, but will we be able to tell the difference between X-Box and PS2 hardware when we look at the games..?
