C&C Red Alert 2 Preview
by Clay Mitchell, Oct 16, 2000 11:29am PDTThe guys over Gamespot UK have a bit of a preview Westwood Studio's Command & Conquer Red Alert 2. They even have a screenshot! Can't help but think "hmm, why does Red Alert 2 look like SimCity 3000?" Anyway, here's the obligatory quote:
"Once again the game retains its predominantly two-dimensional, top-down viewpoint. The engine is a combination of the original Red Alert engine, and Tiberian Sun's improved look, which means that the map tiles are considerably more detailed, trees can hide troops, and the terrain is contoured, and even mountainous at times. Tanks struggle up slopes, while artillery has greater range when fired from high ground."Course there weren't tanks in SimCity.
