The Assassin's Creed franchise has been on hiatus, but that doesn't mean Ubisoft doesn't have something in the works. And with the growing popularity of virtual reality, that "something" could be an Assassin's Creed VR game.

UI and UX designer Matt Stenquist posted numerous images on the design site Dribbble (via UploadVR). Based on his description on the images, the game will have multiplayer, work on HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, and uses the Unreal 4 engine. It is supposedly being developed by Ubisoft Paris. Stenquist said that he "led the UI / UX for an internal Ubisoft escape room game."

Nothing is confirmed at this point, but escape room games, which require players to use items in the room to solve puzzles in a set amount of time, are popular in VR now. Stenquist's posts say the game is internal at this point, which could mean it will never see the light of day, or could be a prototype that grows into something more.

There has already been on Assassin's Creed VR Experience, tied to the release of the Assassin's Creed movie that came out in December starring Michael Fassbender. It was a five-minute VR tour featuring kiosks with a Rift headset and Alienware Aurora PCs.
