Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Doesn't Have New Race Tracks
The only new tracks in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe are the Battle Mode tracks.
Mario Kart is coming to Nintendo Switch with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, but it's unfortunately not bringing any new race tracks. Though the new Battle Mode will have a host of new settings, Nintendo has confirmed that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe contains 48 tracks, which is the same amount as the Wii U version with DLC included.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will come with new characters and features. King Boo, Inkling Boy, Inkling Girl, and Dry Bones will join the cast. New vehicles like the Ink Striker, Bowser Clown Car, and Splat Buggy, are available in which to race. Additionally, you can now hold onto two items while racing for twice the mayhem.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will release on Nintendo Switch on April 28, 2017.

Somewhat disappointing but not the end of the world. I mean MK8 already has a shit ton of tracks, but no doubt a new circuit or two would have been nice. Tough sell for those who already have MK8 and not interested in battle mode though.
Also, kinda surprised this didn't make it for launch? I would think adding battle mode and a few new characters & options would be easily doable. Seems like a missed opportunity.-

That was the problem with Wii U (and PS4 and Xbox one for that matter). Once you got past launch it was a ghost town. The launch for Switch may be lackluster, but they've clearly thought out their game releases. MK8 -> Splatoon -> (probably something to be announced at E3) -> Mario. Etc.

Disappointing, but Mario Kart 8 is my favorite installment. I'm happy just to have a version so slick and polished and full-featured for on-the-go play.
