Rumor: New Nintendo Switch Accessories from Hori Leak Ahead of Reveal Event

Arcade sticks, pro controllers, charging docks, and more.

A number Nintendo Switch items from third-party peripheral manufacturer Hori may have have leaked ahead of tomorrow's reveal event.

Courtesy of NeoGAF, most of these items seem to be companion pieces for the Nintendo Switch’s working parts, including a stand on which to rest the detachable screen, a Pro Controller lookalike, and a full-fledged arcade stick. Check them out below.

Additional items from Hori include additional charging docks, button grips and attachments, an ethernet adapter, and even a car charger.

What games these items will work with and how much they’ll sell for remains a mystery, much like the Nintendo Switch itself. Thankfully, we won’t have to wait very long to learn more at Nintendo’s reveal event tomorrow.  In the meantime, read up on all of the games confirmed to launch alongside it and how you can watch the event from the comfort of your home.

I hadn't thought about skinning the Joycon piece. That could be fun. Hopefully it's a better experience than the 360 face plates. I used to think those were cool, but they really weren't.

      An arcade stick, eh?

That kinda suggests there will be a fighting game near launch. Smash perhaps?

Smash, Tekken 7 maybe? SFV and probably a Pokken port (hopefully with the full roster).

Either way I expect something from Capcom, they tend to support Nintendo's portables well.

Think Disney would let Marvel vs Capcom happen?

I thought a new one was already confirmed? Maybe just rumored, either way I'm sure it's going to happen now that SFV has been a horrible mess. That or, even less likely, a new Darkstalkers game. Capcom needs to get the bad taste out of fighting gamer's mouths from SFV and another numbered SF entry isn't going to happen, so an offshoot like an X vs. Capcom or one of there other fighter properties is more likely.

Most likely is actualy another SF Alpha entry, but Disney is no stranger to outsourcing their IP for video games, and now that their in house studio is dust another MvC is more likely.

Was it confirmed? Idk. I stopped keeping up with most fighting games. I got tired of the constant SF II super mega hyper champion happy deluxe rehash and just stopped.

You know what I want? I want an awesome Marble Madness sequel. Switch seems like a great platform to make that happen.

I expect some sort of Smash follow-up is probable. Just a matter of when.

Nintendo has already said it's doing Amiibo with Switch, so Smash seems like a given.

I wonder how the battery of the Switch will age over time. I assume it will not be designed to be user-replaceable so that really puts a limited lifespan on the product, I would think.

All the others have been user replaceable that I recall, not easy mind you but just a few screws away for the most part.

I talked about that in a previous thread. The Joycons will have to have a battery too. We'll see tomorrow if they're a separate replaceable, or recharge off the tablet.

But, I think given that the tablet is pretty thick, this will be removable like previous consoles. Which is the right decision.
