Developer Arc System Works has announced an all-new Double Dragon will release next month.
Called Double Dragon 4, the game is set to release in time to celebrate 30 years of the classic beat ‘em up franchise on PlayStation 4 and Steam January 30.
This also marks a new chapter for Double Dragon, as it is being created by a new developer. However, The Verge reports key members of the original development team--including the director, character designer, composer, and programmer--are involved in its creation. At this point, little else besides the game’s development crew, platforms, and release date are known, but it’s a safe bet to expect more details in the coming weeks. Visit the official website to learn more.
Double Dragon 4 will be the first properly numbered sequel in the series since 1990. It has also seen recent remasters and remakes, including 2012’s Double Dragon Neon.
