I don't understand how Gearbox got involved in the remaster. The first one was People Can Fly, Epic, and EA. I guess when People Can Fly split from Epic they must have retained the rights to Bulletstorm, but why did they choose Gearbox for the re-release?

Did they offer them money on the stipulation that a Duke mode was added? Whatever occurred, I'd like to hear the story sometime.

Oh geez, Bulletstorm. The story and dialogue in this game is so fucking bad I wish there was an option to just mute it all and keep the sound effects because I honestly felt embarrassed playing this game.

I bought it years ago for PS3 and finally unwrapped the "epic editon"(?) less than a month ago, and gave it a go when I had nothing else I wanted to play. (I had previously played the demo when it was first released way back when).

Really bad screen tearing, and it was starting to make me a bit motion sick. Felt really jerky after playing something like Far Cry 4.

I could roll with the dialogue and story in Duke Nukem Forever, but the dude bros in Bulletstorm were just too much to take. Admittedly I maybe waited a bit too long to unwrap this and the game probably felt way more impressive on the PS3 when it originally came out.

Now all that being said I very much understand why some people would love this game.

But I also don't agree with it being the spiritual successor to DNF, at all. And it's just not for me.

Totally and completely agree on it now where being a spiritual successor to Duke Nukem. The dialog was awful and totally not funny, the maps looked big but felt really small and linear, most of the weapons were kinda pointless when a normal shotgun blast would do just as good of a job of making people dead as the weird bouncing kickball bomb thing, and it just felt slapdash.

Like it was going for quirky and stuff but came off as cringy and try-hard. I have no idea why the Shack claims it in anyway is the same caliber as Duke3D, that only brings Duke3D down.

I was watching this trailer on the TV and as soon as Duke Nukem came in, my SO turned and asked if I was getting it.

      She gets me, man.

That's a weird thing to expect. Are you not considering console players?

$50 seems steep for any remaster, let alone something like Bulletstorm that didn't sell well in the first place.

Why not reward and thank the people that purchased the original game with a discount?
I mean I just got Darksiders Warmastered Edition completely free since I purchased the original. Same thing with the GoTY version of Witcher 3 through green man gaming.

Even the Skyrim remaster was $40 and that included tons of content. Just seems like a heavy handed cash grab to me.

            $50? What the feek??

I'll hold out for a sale.

Coming hot off of Duke Nukem 3D World Tour at $20 with no loyalty discount, I'm only shocked that Bulletstorm Full Clip isn't $60.

On the other end of things, I didn't pay the current owners of Darksiders for the game (purchased it before THQ failed) and yet they gave me a free copy of the just released Darksiders Warmastered Edition.

I'm not suggesting that should be the expectation, for instance the upgraded Darksiders II wasn't free, and adding new content on top of updated assets is nothing to sneeze at, but I think there's a happy medium between giving away the update for free and charging near full price.

The Duke stuff is only free for pre-orders as well. Anyone buying normally will have to pay extra.

Trailer was fucking awesome. Jon St. John is definitely not bringing his A-Game based on the samples provided, though. He barely even sounds like Duke, and the player model is really garish next to the original Bulletstorm art design...they should at least attempt to match the basic color design of the rest of the game world...right?

There's the catch...it's full priced w/no reward for people who already bought it. I'd love to play the game with my buddy Duke, but there's no way I'd buy the same game AGAIN. I feel for that with their version of Duke3d.exe, and the new campaign was super short (new engine had input/sound issues as well).

I love Bulletstorm, but there's no way I'd pay more than $15-20 for it. It's fun but short and outside of the guns and skillshot system, there's not much going for it.
