Here's how to get Assassin's Creed 3 free for PC beginning December 7

The 2012 sequel is the final game in Ubisoft's panoply of free games celebrating three decades of publishing and development.

Beginning December 7, Ubisoft will offer Assassin's Creed 3 free for PC users through its Uplay service.

You can grab Assassin's Creed 3 by logging into Uplay on December 7 and for a few weeks afterwards.

Assassin's Creed 3 is the seventh and final game given away for free in celebration Ubisoft's 30th anniversary. The promotion, "#Ubi30," began in June and included a different game each month. The full line-up included Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Splinter Cell, Rayman Origins, The Crew, Beyond Good & Evil, and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon.

Release in 2012, Assassin's Creed 3 takes place during the Revolutionary War. The late Andrew Yoon reviewed the game for Shacknews and found it a precarious balance of quality versus quantity. "Assassin's Creed 3 could have been a tour de force; instead, it's simply a good game. With a massive campaign, and an even larger array of side missions, Assassin's Creed 3 may not be the greatest game, but it is unquestionably a great value, one that will keep you occupied and entertained for a long time."
