Regarding the LAN party story: What's with breaking up the speaker's sentences like dialogue and making him seem like a stuttering fool? Didn't we used to classify this as a sort of defamation? At very least it's manipulative.

With the agenda set, the story goes on to make the groundless claim that there are "experts" on things like all night gaming binges, and cites one Good Morning America personality as a primary example.

And just who is desensitized to violence, here, anyway? Am I to believe that individuals who view Quake and Counterstike as "murder simulators" are SENSITIVE to the meaning and horror of *actual* violence? These people are dangerous. These concerns are confessions of an inability to make the distinction.

When I was in high school we used to run around in the streets with these kick ass toy machineguns and revolvers, playing Lethal Weapon and Near Dark. Never gave it a second thought. The notion that we might wish to harm someone didn't enter anyone's mind, and so no one gave a shit. I sometimes wonder if there'd be a market for violent computer simulations at all if violent real-life simulations hadn't been ruined - and then outlawed - by the same generation of cynical, apathetic, drug-abusing atheists that ruined everything else.

Now those same people in their sexless old age claims to have found humanity, passion, sobriety, and religion, and would have it that the utopia they've created by outlawing things is threatened by the most harmless group of people in America.

If you ask me, harmless American demographics need to start thinking about getting up from their folding tables and actually *doing* some of that harm, before we are robbed even of our ability to contemplate it. I think it's high time someone gave this fast-rotting civilization's self-appointed crossing guards a reason to worry.

We play lots of violent video games and yell very naughty things at each other. Actually, watching the core members all play Midtown Madness is the best. When we play Q2/Q3 Rail only instagib you're likely to hear "good shot." In Midtown Madness, you hear lots of, "You fucking whore!" "That's my gold!" "Fucking lamp post goddamnmotherfuckingtwatassfucknutbitchasstricksonofabitch!"

CS is more like "Fucking horse shit!" or "God dammit I shot you motherfucker!" God I love LAN parties. That and Mountain Dew. Lots of Mountain Dew. Or beer.
