It’s that time of year again! This Friday marks the beginning of the commercial Holiday season, when people decide it’s a good idea to camp outside of major retailers and skip out on Thanksgiving to score deals on fancy flatscreen TVs.

Pro Shopping Tips:
Be Wary of Quality
This is not necessarily true of everyone or everything, but some companies will manufacture products for Black Friday with cheaper components and construction to help avoid taking a major loss on sales. If possible, try and make sure what you’re buying is of the highest possible quality.
Shop Around/Price Compare
There will always be places that might carry what you want for a better price. Go into Black Friday with an idea of what you want to buy, and don’t be afraid to rummage through several different places to find the best offer.
Don’t Go to Wal-Mart. Don’t Do It.
The first time I ever went out for a true Black Friday midnight run, I went with a handful of friends to the nearby Wal-Mart. There were well over two thousand people flooding it, and barely anything was marked down.It was a madhouse. People fought over DVDs, the aisles in the Electronics department were so crowded it was nearly impossible to get through, and the cash registers were clogged with impossibly long lines. Trust me; it ain’t worth it.

Also agree with not going to Walmart. My brother and I went there 7 years ago to pick up the cheap 360 + guitar hero 2 bundle for my brother and his family. We got there at 4am in -10 degree weather and separated to wait in line at the left and right side doors. I was still drunk from Thanksgiving, so I didn't feel the cold as much as everyone else did. Once the doors were opened, I sprinted to the back because I didn't stand in the cold for nothing. I ended up beating everyone by like 10 seconds, grabbed the box, then stepped aside as quickly as possible to watch everyone else. For a couple minutes it became complete madness as everyone grabbed each box and it soon devolved into quick tug of war matches when the stock got low. We walked away happy, getting what we came for and had a victory breakfast, but we're never doing that again. It's just too much stress and you lose your sanity.
A week later, his wife decided that the 360 wasn't child friendly enough (they have 3 kids), and made him return it for a Wii :(
