Collectors' Editions like these are from the minds of some very evil marketing people ...

Collector's Editions are the aimed at true fans, the ones who have to have all the extras associated with their favorite franchise. We aren;t talking about the extra price that just includes a season pass. These are editions created by evil marketing folks that reach deep into your pocketbook and give you some crazy ass shit along the way.

Take for instance this new GameStop-exclusive Collector's Edition for Resident Evil 7 biohazard. The package comes with "model replica Baker mansion standing at 8" in height, 7.5" in length, and 8.5" in depth, doubling as a music box that plays a familiar tune with accompanying LED effects." Dig a little deeper and you find a 4GB "dummy finger" USB drive inside a VHS tape box, a lithograph of the Baker family, and a "creepy note" from mansion residents. Oh, and let's not forget the metal case to hold the game itself. You can have all this for the moderate sum of $179.99.

If you are a Resident Evil fan, then I'm sure you will consider this. There have been other collectors' editions that have cost a lot more, so this is a bargain compared to those. The edition will ship when the game comes out on January 24 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
