Players who pre-ordered Dishonored 2 for PC got to play yesterday, one day before its official release, and reports of technical hiccups flooded in. Framerate hitches and mouse glitches have been particularly bothersome, but Arkane says the issues will be resolved in a patch coming soon-ish.

"We have been monitoring the PC forums and social channels and while we're excited to hear that many of you are enjoying the game, we are disheartened that some of you are experiencing PC performance issues on some systems," Arkane wrote in a blog. "We are actively working to provide an update to address your concerns. The patch and its release notes will be available in the coming days."

Technical issues aside, the games media seems happy with Dishonored 2's story and gameplay so far.

"All early indications are Dishonored 2 holds up to the high bar of its predecessor, and while it offers a bit more replayability with Emily and Corvo and some new game mechanics, it isn't as much of an advancement as it is a return to a formula that continues to work incredibly well for the series," wrote Shacknews editor John Keefer in his review-in-progress, published this morning.
