No more details on the Switch, but you can hear all the latest about a four-year-old 3DS game.

Nintendo has announced a new Direct presentation, not for any upcoming games or hardware, but for Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Yes, the one that's four years old.

In a brief announcement, Nintendo gave word that the Direct will air tomorrow, November 2, at 10 AM ET / 7 AM PT. It will focus "exclusively on the new updates coming to Animal Crossing: New Leaf." That's likely to mean a focus on the Amiibo support coming in December as part of the "Welcome Amiibo" update.

The update will allow players to tap Amiibo figures and cards to bring villagers into their town. It sounds like a nifty value-added update for an older game, though holding a Direct devoted entirely to an update for an older game is sure to elicit more than a few "huh"s.
