This Saturday, November 5, marks the beginning of Extra Life Game Day, the video game community's annual way of giving back by raising money for charity. Shacknews has big plans this year, and we want you to be a part of the effort.

For the first time ever, members of the Shacknews family will come together in one room to raise money for a full 24 hours. Asif Khan, Cassidee Moser, and I will be joined by colleagues from the local scene to play games, give each other grief, trash talk, get incredibly tired and loopy, and raise as much as we can for the Children's Specialized Hospital in New Jersey. Once the 24-hour shift is over, we'll hand it off to our Chatty community, who will keep the effort going for another 24 hours.

We'll throw down in NBA 2K17, smash up some Smash Bros, get on-point in Overwatch, curse the roll of the dice in Mario Party, and plenty more. Plus, we have loads of giveaways, from digital download codes to physical goodies.

Check out our Extra Life campaign page to contribute, and visit our Twitch stream starting 8 AM ET on Saturday, November 5 to watch all the action. We've surpassed $30,000 raised each year so far, and with your help we can do it again. For the kids!
